The United Way Tocqueville Society was founded more than 25 years ago in order to deepen the understanding, commitment and support of United Way’s most generous and community-minded investors.
Membership in the society is granted to individuals who contribute at least $10,000 annually to United Way. National Society Membership is granted to individuals who contribute $100,000 or more per year to United Way. Partnership with United Way’s Million Dollar Round Table is limited to individuals who have contributed $1,000,000 or more to the United Way cause.
United Way Worldwide also works with local United Ways to develop United Way Tocqueville Societies. Currently there are 456 United Way Tocqueville society members. In 2005, United Way of McLean County became affiliated with the national United Way Tocqueville Society program. Each year our local members receive national recognition for their generosity to United Way of McLean County.
