Heart of United Way of McLean County values and protects your privacy and places strict controls on the gathering and use of personally identifiable data. Your personal data is never collected by our website. The personally identifiable information we collect from individuals is only the information they provide to us voluntarily and knowingly; we do not require you to register or provide information to us in order to visit the public portion of our site.

UWMC only gathers personally identifiable data: addresses, zip codes, e-mail addresses, etc. when voluntarily submitted by a visitor. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order to record a stated desire to donate online to UWMC via a direct gift. This information is used solely by United Way for the purpose of executing the transaction. Online donations are made via PayPal. Your personal information is not disclosed, made available, or otherwise used for purposes other than those specified at the time of collection, except with your consent or as authorized by law or regulation. If you supply your email address, we may contact you for additional information or send you updates about how donations are being put to use in our community, such as our newsletter. You can contact us to restrict our use of your contact information at any time. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. UWMC lists are never sold to third parties.

We use the information you provide about yourself when donating only to record that donation so that we can acknowledge your gift to our community. We do not share this information with outside parties without the donor's authorization.
