2010 – 2011 Annual Report
(July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011)
To Our Community,
Last year United Way of McLean County celebrated 75 years of service in our community. We are an independently run United Way organization that is led by local volunteers, which means that we are focused on what’s best for McLean County. Our role is to proactively identify pressing community issues and bring people together to determine the best way to address those issues. We are committed to making significant, measurable and observable changes that will enhance the quality of life in McLean County.
Our strategic direction targets three areas that are essential to the success of individuals, families and our community – Education, Income and Health. We partner with local social service agencies, schools, churches and government to ensure residents in McLean County have the programs and services required for a good life. Last fall our volunteers collaborated with community stakeholders to develop outcomes and strategies for each of our focus areas. By working together, we have a shared sense of ownership in the success of moving our community forward in these areas.
The foundation of the United Way organization is the local volunteers who give their time, expertise and passion toward making our community a great place to live. Every aspect of our work is led by talented individuals that represent a diverse cross section of our community. Without these volunteers, we would not be able to raise the dollars needed to fund programs and services nor meticulously evaluate programs prior to making a funding decision.
United Way of McLean County is alive with activity, and our community is being changed for the better. With your ongoing partnership, we will continue to provide the leadership and resources it takes to improve the lives of people across McLean County.
Thank you for working with us.
Barry Reilly
Board Chair 2011-2012
